John Brown Biography for kids
John Brown was a
deeply religious man who was raised to believe that that slavery was a sin against
God. He spent his adult life fighting against slavery and became a
militant activist in the Abolitionist Movement. He first
achieved fame due to his activities with his involvement with the
"Underground Railway" and in "Bleeding Kansas" which led him to
become a prominent Abolitionist. He believed that talk would never
resolve the institution of slavery but that "...the crimes of this
guilty land will never be purged away but with blood."
